Chobi Rugs

These are our Chobi rugs, sometimes spelled Choobi, Choubi, or Chubi rug, deriving from the Persian word "choob" which translates to "wood". Chobi is defined as a wood-like color. It traditionally consists of 100% natural dyes made from hand gathered fruit, vegetables, roots, tree bark and dried shells. It is the most labor intensive rug of all tribal rugs for this region. Usually the wool originates from the Himalaya Sheep. The dyes are steadfast, fade proof and long lasting. These rugs are usually all hand spun and hand knotted. They are characterized by their large geometric floral patterns, considered to be one of the famous brand names among most designers. Enjoy Tabrizi's hand-picked collection for Chobi rugs.
