Varamin is one of Irans villages, located 25 miles to the south-east of Tehran, the capital of Iran. It's a centre for tribal Persian rug weaving, Varamin has maintained its traditions at a time where almost all other persian rug weaving centres are changing designs to suit foreign markets. Many rug experts see Varamins as purer Persian rugs. They have geometric patterns, made by tribal people who live in Varamin. The principal colours used in Varamin rugs are mostly dark brown and dark red on khaki or blue backgrounds. the dominant design in varamin rugs is Called Mina khani.
