Ardabil Rug

This is an Ardabil rug, sometimes spelled Ardebil rug, named after the Ardabil Province in northwestern Iran. Ardabil has a rich history of Persian rug weaving. Ardabil rugs feature motifs that are very similar to Caucasian rugs, but with more motifs and objects woven into the borders. Some modern weavers have begun to favour bold geometric patterns. One of the most famous carpets in existence today is the Ardabil Carpet on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England.

Material: Wool

This rug is made from wool. This rug's natural material is soft, warm, and durable - a practical choice for any area, even with high foot traffic. The most popular material used for rugs for thousands of years, a wool rug will provide you a lifetime of comfort with easy upkeep.

Country: Iran

This rug is made in Iran. Within the group of Oriental rugs, the Persian rug stands out by the variety and elaborateness of its manifold designs. Persian rugs are an essential part of Persian art and culture. Traditionally, from the yarn fiber to the colors, every part of the Persian carpet is handmade from natural ingredients over the course of many months. The "traditional skills of carpet weaving" in Iran were insribed to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.
