This is a Luri rug, sometimes known as Lori, Lurs, or Lors. One of the oldest known nomadic tribes in Iran is the Lori. They are mostly found in the northwest region of the country that borders Pakistan. They are gypsy-like peoples and many are musicians and entertainers.
