Persian handmade, Kashan, circa mid 20th century - City of Kashan located in central Iran with a history going back to 7000 years ago. Kashan has been famous for its architecture, literature. Number of gardens were built mostly in 18th century in the city as the city got more dominant role in Iran. Rug making industry also started to glorify as rug weavers started to get inspiration from architucture and persian literature.
Kashan rugs are mainly focused on persian garden motif. with red or navy blue background. The weavers take lots of time to weave each flower knot by knot very accurately, which leaves no room for mistake. Use of water lilies, edithcolea and all the flowers which are common in central Iran.
