This is a Chobi rug, sometimes spelled Choobi, Choubi, or Chubi rug, deriving from the Persian word "choob" which translates to "wood". Chobi is defined as a wood-like color. It consists of 100% natural dyes made from hand gathered fruit, vegetables, roots, tree bark and dried shells. It is the most labor intensive rug of all tribal rugs for this region. Usually the wool originates from the Himalaya Sheep. The dyes are steadfast, fade proof and long lasting. These rugs are usually all hand spun and hand knotted. They are characterized by their large geometric floral patterns, considered to be one of the famous brand names among most designers. 

This rug is made using fine wool. This rug's natural material is luxuriously soft to the touch while extremely durable, made using only the finest grade of wool. With this rug you can expect quality that will last you a lifetime. 

This rug is made in Afghanistan. Afghan rugs are mostly assembled in northern and western Afghanistan, by various tribes and ethnic groups but mainly by Turkmen. Almost all of Afghan weavers make rugs that are about the same as those they have woven for decades.Various vegetable, and other natural dyes are the foundation of afghan rugs. The most typical rug that is made by Afghans is that of the octagonal elephant's foot (Bukhara) print, often with a red background.
