Pazyryk Rugs

Pazyryk rugs are ancient woolen carpets discovered in the Pazyryk Valley in the Altai Mountains of Siberia. Unearthed in the tombs of a wealthy nomadic tribe in the 5th century BCE, they stand as some of the oldest surviving examples of carpet weaving.

Notable for intricate designs depicting animals, hunting scenes, and geometric patterns, Pazyryk rugs showcase exceptional quality and durability. Preserved in tombs, they offer valuable insights into ancient nomadic culture and remain symbols of luxury and prestige for collectors, art enthusiasts, and historians studying ancient society and culture.
